Placing hoist origins

The hoist origin serves as a reference point for associated hoists. Several hoist origins can be placed in the drawing, and different hoists can refer to different hoist origins. The coordinates displayed for each hoist are based on its position relative to the assigned hoist origin.

The first time you use the tool in a file, a properties dialog box opens. Set the default properties. The properties can be edited from the Object Info palette.

Parameter	Description
Origin ID	Names the hoist origin, for reference when associating hoists with the origin, and for label display
Note	Adds a note for informational purposes; the text does not display on the drawing
Label Text Size	When the hoist label is displayed, controls the text size
Origin Label X/Y	Controls the location of the hoist origin label, which can also be adjusted with the label control point
Display Origin ID	Displays the Origin ID label
Classes	Opens the Classes dialog box, to specify class naming for the hoist origin label. This allows the label to be set to visible, grayed, or invisible. Use the suggested standard class, select a class from the list of classes present in the drawing, or create a new class. Select <Hoist Origin Class> to place the label in the same class as the hoist origin. ● Class Prefix: Specifies an optional default root class naming standard for the hoist origin label; click Use Standard Classes to begin all label class names with the prefix, so that they are sorted together. ● Use Standard Classes: Sets the class name for the label to the default suggested standard name, using the Class Prefix if there is one. ● Label: Specifies the class name standard to use for the hoist origin label.
